These are the house rules for 1v1 Chat. They are simple: be respectful, remember there is a real person on the other side, and help keep this an adults-only space where everyone feels comfortable. Read them before you start chatting.
Follow these and you are all set. Break them and you may lose access.
Why we have guidelines
1v1 Chat connects you one-on-one with real people over video, voice, and text. That only works when everyone plays fair. These guidelines exist to keep conversations friendly, safe, and free of the behaviour that ruins it for others. They apply everywhere on the platform — on camera, by voice, in text, and in your profile.
By using 1v1 Chat you agree to follow these guidelines alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For practical tips on staying in control of your chats, see our Safety guide.
The rules, in plain language
Here is what we expect, and what is not allowed. None of this is complicated — it comes down to treating people well and keeping things legal and adults-only.
Who can use 1v1 Chat
1v1 Chat is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. There are no exceptions. When you use the platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
If we have reason to believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it. Keeping this space adults-only protects everyone, so please do not share it with minors or help anyone underage get access.
Be respectful and kind
There is a real person on the other side of every conversation. Treat them the way you would want to be treated. A friendly hello goes a long way, and it is fine to skip politely if a chat is not for you.
Consent matters. If someone asks you to stop, change the subject, or end the call, respect that immediately. Good conversations are the ones where both people feel comfortable.
No harassment, hate, or bullying
Harassment of any kind is not allowed. That includes threats, intimidation, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, and trying to get around a block.
We have zero tolerance for hate speech or slurs targeting anyone based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Bullying, shaming, and coordinated pile-ons are also off limits.
No nudity or sexual content on camera
Keep it clothed and keep it appropriate. Nudity, sexual acts, and explicit or lewd behaviour on camera, by voice, or in text are not permitted anywhere on 1v1 Chat.
This applies to what is visible in the background too. Do not use the platform to solicit sexual content from other people or to direct anyone to explicit material elsewhere.
Absolutely no minors
Any content involving minors, and any attempt to contact, groom, or solicit a minor, is completely forbidden and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
This is the most serious rule on the platform. If you encounter anything that appears to involve a minor, stop the conversation and report it right away so our team can act.
No illegal activity, spam, scams, or self-promotion
Do not use 1v1 Chat for anything illegal. That includes selling or promoting drugs, weapons, or other prohibited goods, and sharing content you do not have the right to share.
Spam, phishing, scams, fraud, and attempts to steal money or personal details are banned. So is turning the chat into an advertising channel. Please do not push links, promo codes, external accounts, paid services, or "add me on another app" pitches.
Respect privacy — yours and theirs
Do not share other people’s personal information such as their real name, address, phone number, workplace, or private messages. Doxxing someone is a serious violation.
Never record, screenshot, or stream a conversation without the other person’s clear consent. And think twice before sharing your own sensitive details — you are talking with strangers, so keep private information private.
Reporting and blocking
You are never stuck in a bad conversation. If someone makes you uncomfortable or breaks these guidelines, you have quick tools to handle it — and using them helps keep the whole community safe.
Skip
Leave any chat instantly and match with someone new. No explanation needed.
Block
Cut off contact for good. A blocked person cannot match with you again.
Report
Flag a rule-breaking chat with the report button. Our team reviews every report.
When you report someone, our team looks into it and takes action based on what we find. Genuine reports are one of the best ways to keep 1v1 Chat welcoming, so please use them whenever something crosses the line.
Enforcement and consequences
We enforce these guidelines fairly and in proportion to what happened. Depending on the situation, action can range from a friendly warning to a permanent ban.
Warning. For minor or first-time slips, we may simply remind you of the rules.
Feature limits or suspension. Repeated or more serious issues can lead to restricted features or a temporary suspension.
Permanent ban. Severe violations — anything involving minors, threats, illegal activity, or repeated abuse — result in an immediate, permanent ban.
Where the law requires it, we will cooperate with authorities and report serious violations. We would always rather help good members understand the rules than remove them — but safety comes first.
Appeals and getting in touch
Think we got something wrong? Everyone deserves a fair hearing. If your account was actioned by mistake, or you just have a question about these guidelines, you can reach us and we will take another look.
Head to our contact us page to appeal an action or ask anything about how the community works. We read every message and aim to reply promptly.
Community guidelines — FAQ
How do I report someone?
Every chat has a report button. Tap it to flag a conversation that breaks these guidelines, and add a short note if you can. You can report during or right after a chat, and reports are reviewed by our team. For anything urgent involving a minor or an immediate threat, report it straight away.
What happens when I block someone?
Blocking instantly ends the conversation and stops that person from matching with you again. It is a quick, no-questions-asked way to remove someone from your experience. You never have to explain yourself to use it.
What are the consequences of breaking the rules?
Depending on how serious the violation is, we may issue a warning, restrict features, temporarily suspend an account, or permanently ban it. Severe violations — like anything involving minors, threats, or illegal activity — result in an immediate permanent ban and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement.
I think I was banned by mistake. Can I appeal?
Yes. If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you can appeal by reaching out through our contact page. Explain what happened and our team will take another look. We would rather correct an honest mistake than lose a good member.
Ready to chat the right way?
Keep it kind, keep it adults-only, and enjoy meeting new people. Match instantly and start a friendly conversation now.
