Video chat, one to one
You are matched with a single person on camera — never dropped into a group room with an audience.
Random video chat →1v1 Chat is a browser-based platform for meeting one new person at a time — by video, voice or text. It is operated by the 1v1 Chat team, and it launched in 2026. This page explains what the platform actually does, what it does not do, and how to reach the people behind it.
1v1 Chat pairs you with one real person for a live conversation, and gives you three ways to have it. The mode is a choice you make in the lobby before you match — not three separate products, and not something you are locked into once a chat starts. Everything runs in the browser: there is nothing to install, and you can start from a phone or a desktop.
You are matched with a single person on camera — never dropped into a group room with an audience.
Random video chat →Not camera-ready? Take the same match as an audio-only call and talk without appearing on screen.
Voice chat →Text matching drops you straight into a written conversation with one person.
Text chat →These are the decisions that shape the product. They are also the ones we get asked about most, so it is worth being explicit rather than leaving them buried in the terms.
Every match is between two people. There is no lobby, no spectators, and no group room — which is the whole reason this site exists and the thing we are least willing to change.
You are not asked for an email, a phone number or a public profile to start. You decide what to reveal, and you can stop at any point. We do not claim more than that: no moderated platform can honestly promise that nothing is ever logged.
Skip, mute, block and report sit in every session. You never have to argue with anyone — leaving is one tap, and blocking is permanent. Reports are read by a real person and reviewed within 24 hours.
New members get free matches to start. After those, the platform runs on coins you buy when you want them. Nothing renews in the background and nothing is billed by the minute.
Meeting strangers only works if leaving is easy. Skip, mute, block and report are on screen in every session — report sends the case to the moderation team, and accounts that break the community guidelines can be limited or removed. Blocking is immediate and permanent.
We also think the honest version of safety advice is worth writing down rather than just claiming: our safety page covers the platform rules, and the guide to talking to strangers online safely covers the habits that do most of the work. 1v1 Chat is for adults only — you must be 18 or older.
Questions, safety concerns, privacy requests and ideas all go to the same team. The contact page routes you to the right place, and the help centre answers the things people ask most often. Our policies are public: privacy, terms and community guidelines.
1v1 Chat is built and operated by the 1v1 Chat team. Support, safety reports and privacy requests all go to the same place — the contact page — and are handled by the people who run the platform.
1v1 Chat launched in 2026. It is a new platform, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend to a history we do not have.
It is free to start. New members get free matches, and after those the platform runs on pay-as-you-go coins. There is no subscription and nothing is billed by the minute.
You can begin without handing over an email, a phone number or a public profile. You choose what to share, and you can leave any conversation instantly.
Report is available in every session. Every report is read by a real person — not an automated filter — and reviewed within 24 hours. Accounts that break the community guidelines can be limited or removed. If you need to reach someone directly, use the contact page.
1v1 Chat is for adults — you must be 18 or older. It is meant for meeting new people, and the community guidelines apply to everyone equally.
Pick video, voice or text — you are matched with a single real person in seconds.
